Don't know anything about this series, except I have two of them and I got them for free somewhere!
Turns out this is by Mark Darin, an ex-Telltale designer, and has music and VO by a bunch of Telltale pros too. Unfortunately, it also turns out that it is dreadful. It looks ugly as sin, the pathfinding is so bad that you're constantly having to nudge your character past obstacles, and the writing is weary sub-Police Squad stuff. There's pixel hunting which is exacerbated by the fact that the game is in black and white and 3D so it's incredibly easy to walk past important objects or not realise that you can just walk behind a structure in the back corner and the camera will swing round to let you see something on the floor. To access your inventory you have to slowly move your cursor up to the icon in the top left of the screen (the game tells you it's designed to be played with a controller but I would have swapped to kbm in the hopes of alleviating some of these issues if I were to play any further). These are all mistakes that not even Sam & Max S01E01 was making. Have uninstalled and won't be playing the other game in the series which is called, wait for it, A Case Of The Crabs. Ah ha ha, like the venereal disease! Brilliant!
